Site Inspiration
This site was started to keep track of the many type (and type related) events happening in New York. Specifically it was spawned during a conversation with Stephen Coles about the lack of a centralized location for keeping track of these related events being hosted by different organizations. In the Bay Area, TypeSF.org was created by Jessica Hische with an events listing for typophiles, but here in NY we were without such a site. Jessica is a great role model as someone who builds helpful resources for the design community and encourages others to do the same. So I decided to follow in her footsteps and build a similar site for typophiles in New York. In the future, I hope this contributes to more cross-pollination between the various type/lettering/design organizations in the city because I think there’s a lot we can learn from one another.
